Your post is fascinating. I have done so much to battle my inner fatso and make peace with my curves. It is so interesting that now that I like my body - it seems to like me back. Translation: I eat what seems to be more than ever and stay pretty darn lean.
My sister lives in Italy and it is fascinating to see that they have such a different relationship with dieting. (They don't do it.) From an early age Italians learn to eat in a sensible way. They sit and eat their meals. Northern Italians don't eat many sweets. They don't snack the way we do. Every time I arrive in the Milan airport I am suddenly aware that I am in a large public space, and everyone is at a pretty normal weight.
Thanks for your wonderful work.
