Thank you for this post. My opinion is that good old face-to-face conversation is the best way for me to develop intimacy and true connection.
I believe that Facebook and Twitter are part of the "McDonaldization" of communication and connection. These social networks cannibalize our time with superficial trivialities.
My connection with a FB friend isn't developed by hearing that they made pita bread or drank their first wine from a box. Facebook could be used to gather support for an idea or a project, How to get there?
I am not sure of the method. However, I am so glad that you started this conversation!
